Dieffenbacher History –Windsor, Ontario
Dieffenbacher North America Inc. is a subsidiary of the Dieffenbacher Group in Eppingen, Germany. As a company Dieffenbacher has been in business for over 135 years. Please click here for the company’s chronicle.
In 1980, as Mr. Wolf-Gerd Dieffenbacher, the fourth generation took over the focus in wood products continued. Early in his tenure as President & CEO, Mr. WG. Dieffenbacher chose to establish a presence in the emerging North American market. In the fall of 1983, Dieffenbacher North America Inc. was officially opened as a sales office in Toronto, Ontario.
Early in 1984 the business, complete with manufacturing capacity, was relocated to the Windsor area in a building on North Talbot Road. Here the business began its operation in the Rubber Injection press systems for the automotive industry, which flourished for many years. By 1998, the business had out grown its location on North Talbot Road and began searching for alternative sites. As no suitable location existed, the company decided to build a new state-of-the-art manufacturing and service building in the newly formed Twin Oaks Industrial Park.
In 1998, only seven (7) months after breaking ground, the new facility opened complete with offices, and two (2) manufacturing bays. It soon became evident that the current office size was insufficient to house the growing needs of the North American marketplace. To resolve this issue an office expansion took place in 2001 along with a small warehouse, which were both integrated into the new building.
As the North American wood products industry began to increase and the press and forming systems began to change, the company found a need to expand its production area again in 2005.
Dieffenbacher North America has grown and continues to grow based on its strengths and superior solutions in the wood, plastic and metal pressing sectors.
Due to the strength of the global company and ability of the Windsor location to serve its North American customers with optimum efficiency, further growth is expected in the near future. All of our customers benefit from 135 years of experience while having all of their needs met here in North America.
